If it were a year ago, Phyllis and the audience would not have known that she would be deciding whether to fall back in love with Jack or not. Phick was progressing and appeared as the Y&R couple’s comeback vehicle.
But time passed, the writer’s room debated, and Phack might be back.
When it comes to Phack history or Phack reboot talk, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is not a fan. She is mostly objective on this topic, even considering that Jack is her brother.
Jack is familiar with Ashley’s stance and should not dismiss it. Her point about love revivals being led by imagined outcomes is a good one. Jack is trying to thoroughly examine the pluses and minuses of this situation, with no easy conclusion ahead.
As a side note, it is always great to see Davidson. The longtime cast member has settled into a recurring role, with the actor having said that is her choice. Hopefully, Davidson is open to more screen time as all great actor’s efforts enhance ensemble shows.
Phyllis’ multiple, recent conversations with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) appear to be geared toward a Phack green-light. Stafford’s character has formed a nice friendship with Amanda, who offers a fresh perspective and has Phyllis’ best interests at heart.
It would be good if Y&R also includes Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) in the contemplation process. They are Phyllis’ loyal friends who can offer a combined take that covers yesterday and today.
Phyllis has not quickly rebounded from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to Jack because she does not want to hurt Bergman’s character. That is a reflection of Phyllis’ heart in modern times. The same was true with Phick, in not wanting to hurt Nick.
Phyllis is not who she used to be. The same can be said about Jack.
He is searching for love while also wanting to avoid repeating mistakes. He was wise to avoid pairing with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), but this consideration is much different.
Phyllis is seeking stability. She thought that was possible with Nick. But he has not matured nearly as much as Jack has in recent years.
With that type of assessment, Phyllis might find her way to yes. Whether Jack also agrees to leap will soon be seen on Y&R.
