The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) believes that she’s off to a good start with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). The therapy sessions are partly an attempt to help Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but do aim at enabling Chelsea’s full recovery.

Egan is offering terrific performances, as she’s asked to project her feelings without having her character speak, or move when interacting with other people. Y&R is having Egan use dialogue, as Chelsea’s thoughts can be heard, along with occasional daydream or traditional nighttime dream sequences, but is writing scenes where connected characters can’t hear her or detect movement.

Sharon recognized Adam’s intent to provoke Chelsea into recovering and called him on it when he initially pitched this idea. But Case’s character went along with it, which indicates that she believes this method can work and is rationalizing the manipulative intent. Of course, Chelsea knows what Adam is doing and, as Egan’s voice-over noted, wants to keep her perceived enemy, Sharon, close.

Nick spoke with emotion at Society, when responding to Faith’s rudeness. She rebuked her grandmother’s (Nikki Newman, Melody Thomas Scott) attempt to become involved.

It must be said that Nick does realize Faith’s issue with drinking is different than when she believed monsters were hiding under her bed. But he is also enabling a clear problem to persist by choosing to gamble, projecting that a wait-and-see attitude would be best.

Sharon’s approach with Chelsea and Faith is generally similar. She’s choosing to be directly involved and to speak openly to both people.

Awareness of the Chadam and Shadam dynamic are fueling Sharon’s efforts with Chelsea. As for Faith, Sharon’s maternal experience and especially her memories of Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) are influencing a comprehensive strategy to be formed.

The request for Nikki’s inclusion, in particular, demonstrates that Sharon wants family stakeholders to be involved. Nick’s belief is to purely rely on his judgment, which restricts the vital input of others, including Faith’s mother.
