Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Mariah has been missing now for over a week, at least in soap opera time! In this week’s preview of what’s ahead on The Young and The Restless, Mariah is revealed to be locked in a room, banging on the inside of the door and wanting to go home! Judging from her surroundings, it looks like whoever is holding her captive may be someone she knows, or if not, she is being well taken care of. It looks like a very nicely appointed room, and although Mariah is certainly impatient, and a bit angry, she’s not being mistreated.

Viewers of The Young and The Restless want to know, where could Mariah be? The room could be in a nice hotel or in someone’s home, although it is not likely to be in a remote part of the Chancellor mansion. If it were, someone would certainly have heard her by now – and her wording, saying she wants to go home, indicates she’s somewhere else. The Chancellor mansion is large, there is no disputing that. Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that it was the late Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) home, and although lots of mysteries took place there, no one was ever locked in a secret room! Besides, the last place that Mariah was seen was in Chancellor Park, talking to Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan).

Viewers of The Young and The Restless know that Mariah is getting closer to giving birth. If this mystery of who is holding Mariah captive is not solved soon, she may have to give birth on her own! As viewers of The Young and The Restless know, this could lead to all kinds of dangerous complications for Mariah and her baby! It is one thing for a woman who has given birth to children before to have to bear a child on her own, but quite another to be in her first pregnancy and have to go it alone! The baby could be coming breech – meaning feet first, which could be deadly to both Mariah and the baby. In a hospital, the obstetrician would literally have to reach inside the birth canal and turn the baby or do an emergency caesarian section! Baby Boy Chancellor could have the umbilical cord twisted around his neck, which could choke him to death before he ever reached the outside world!

One of the most important questions that need to be answered here is who kidnapped Mariah? Viewers of The Young and The Restless may assume it’s Stitch, since he was the last one to see her. That is a definite possibility, since when he first arrived he was only staying for a short visit to Genoa City which has now turned into a permanent move. Stitch heard the worries of Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and then several mysterious texts arrived from Mariah’s phone that seemed to answer their questions. However, they are still suspicious because the answers don’t sound like Mariah. Her mother, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is starting to worry as well! Viewers of The Young and The Restless will see that Stitch has applied for and taken the position of the mentor whose retirement party he initially came to attend. Stitch definitely seems like the best person of interest.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Who Else Could Have Kidnapped Mariah Copeland?

However, as viewers of The Young and The Restless know, other possibilities exist. Stitch’s son, Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze) would be in his late teens now and perhaps he’s not all that comatose and unresponsive after all. Maybe he’s taking a page from Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) playbook and faking! Perhaps Stitch has really come to town looking for him, knowing he escaped from the hospital in Iowa City! However, a better possibility, if Stitch is not the perpetrator, is that a psychotic woman desiring a child decided she wants the one that Mariah is carrying for Abby. The fact that Mariah is a surrogate wouldn’t matter – any pregnant woman and the baby she is carrying would do. The woman may have approached Mariah in the park, befriended her, and invited her to her home. Perhaps she is a customer of Crimson Lights and they are already acquainted. That would make more sense, since Mariah would be naturally cautious given her background.
