The Young and The Restless (Y&R) spoilers and rumours tease that in Genoa City, Wisconsin there is a possibility Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is being groomed by a predator, even though she thinks she is communicating with a boy her own age! Could The Young and The Restless be preparing to deal with the hot button issue of child predators and human trafficking?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Who Is Really Texting Faith Newman?

Viewers of The Young and The Restless saw Faith in a recent episode responding from a text supposedly from a boy close to her own age. The problem is, that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) had just bought her a new phone with a new phone number. No one except family and trusted friends such as say, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) was supposed to have that number, and the only reason for Tessa to have it would be because she is Faith’s older half-sister Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) partner. However, online predators of young teens and children usually have their ways through the dark web of accessing phone numbers, email addresses, and other means of communication.

Usually they are also skilled in hacking into computers and phones as well. It is possible that one of Faith’s enemies at school knows such a person and this person has been contacted in retaliation against her. Unfortunately, too many young teens are not cyber savvy and do not know to watch out online, and that the person texting or communicating with them in chat rooms or via email may not be the person they portray themselves to be! One would think that her stepfather, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) would have warned her about this. Nick should have. Sharon Rosales, (Sharon Case) Faith’s mother should have.

But it seems that they are all too involved trying to shield Faith to take that eventuality into consideration. Faith should have told one of them or at least one of her older sisters about these mysterious texts, or even her step-aunt Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle)! But Faith is lonely and vulnerable, and doesn’t want them to know for fear that the person texting her would be driven away by their “parental paranoia”. The big problem is, that is exactly what child predators and human traffickers count on to find their victims!

Y&R Spoilers – The Person Online May Appear To Be A Teenage Boy But May Be An Adult Man, And A Bad One!

According to Soap Opera News, a young man has been cast who could be the person Faith is being texted by. His name is Donald Bowen, although no character name has yet been announced. He has the look to be someone who Faith may believe is a teenage boy, but in reality he may be an adult man who looks young enough to pass as a teenager. In any case, he could be big trouble for Faith and her family! Faith is just naïve enough to fall for a predator’s façade and his lies, and just lonely enough to not even question that her new friend – especially a boy, would not be who he pretends to be!

Unfortunately, human trafficking, which includes the subset of child pornographers and predators is rampant in the United States as well as other parts of the world. Every day in real life there are news stories, some of which are not so pretty and not ending well for the victims. No doubt, this would be a meaty role for Faith’s portrayer, Alyvia Alyn Lind to play out on screen, but will fans of The Young and The Restless see Sharon and Nick go through the loss of another daughter, or will someone intervene in time to prevent a tragedy?
