The pairing that Devon and Elena formed naturally, over time was real. There’s no denying that they were solid and appeared headed toward marriage and potentially having children. But Elena’s insecurities led to a mistake with Nate.

Amanda wasn’t a lethal threat to Elena, as Devon’s recent re-connections with Sarpy’s character demonstrate. It’s also accurate to say that his recent connection with Amanda was tied to her confirmed link to Hilary Hamilton (Morgan) and is, at least partially, a rebound.

If Amanda makes a crisp break from Devon and he and Elena jointly decide to reconcile, then a clear opportunity exists. Yes, Nate and Amanda could become a rebound duo.

So, just like that, Amanda and Devon seem to be done. Viewers have been privy to the developments between them, which clearly indicated a reconciliation was happening. But that decision could produce a separate response.

It’s not that Amanda and Nate are destined. But there was a mutual interest, even if it wasn’t deep. So, maybe Namanda will prove to be the better option for both people if they decide to re-explore that option? Whether the presumed revival between Devon and Elena endures is another question.
