The actress who played Faith Newman on the CBS sudser has shared the news that her young cousin has a rare disease and was recently hospitalized.

Lind recently departed the show after being cast in the television series based on the popular Chucky movie franchise. In her post, she urged fans to donate in support of the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex charity and to keep her kin Bodie in their thoughts and prayers.

Y&R Spoilers – Alum Alyvia Alyn Lind Asks For Support

The actress posted a link to a fundraiser for, tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) on her Instagram story. TSC is a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in different organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin, and lungs.

She captioned a pic of the little guy in a hospital bed: “My baby cousin bodie went into status epilepticus yesterday morning. He is just 3 years old and has been batting TSC since he was a newborn. This is the absolute strongest family I know and seeing him like this completely breaks my heart.”

The fundraiser she refers to is called Bodie’s Buddies, and Bodie’s mom, Kaylan Eggert O’Hara is in charge of the Step Forward to Cure TSC Global Virtual Walk-Run-Ride.

After Lind departed the show the role of Faith Newman was recast with Reylynn Caster. She stepped into a front-burner storyline as a troubled teen who suddenly needed a kidney transplant and has impressed fans with her own unique take on the character.
