The Young and the Restless needs to explain Sharon and Rey Rosales to us and why these two are even together because we just don’t get it.

The Young And The Restless – Gives Us One Year Of Shay Boredom

It was New Year’s Eve last year when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) looked on from around a corner at Society and watched Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) marry Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and she looked happy and radiant and thrilled to be joining her life with this very nice man who she has absolutely no chemistry with.

In the year since that lovely little wedding, Rey almost died thanks to a crazy Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) thinking Sharon and Adam were having an affair, and ordered Sharon around a lot, not trusting her and forbidding her from spending any time with Adam at all. Sharon didn’t need that and neither did the audience.

When Sharon and Adam finally came to terms with the fact that they would never be together, Sharon settled into a ho-hum life with Rey where all she does is clean up at Crimson Lights and listen to everyone’s problems. Then she goes home to her boring-as-all-get-out husband. And we need Y&R to wake us when it’s over.

It has to be over soon, right? How can a couple be this boring, especially when one member of the pair is one of the show’s most popular heroines ever? Make it make sense. Why is Sharon wasting her life with this man? Why does she no longer have a real storyline? Why does she listen to what he tells her to do? Since when has Sharon ever done that?

Plus, the real love of Sharon’s life is available again and pouring his soul out to her. Just a few months ago the show gave us a tease as we saw Nick Newman and Sharon long for one another as he helped her close up at Crimson Lights. The chemistry that has been there for Sharon Case and Joshua Morrow for three decades shined through and we wanted more of it. But she is married to Rey. Again, that has to end soon, right?
