In case you didn’t get the memo, Skyle are off the canvas. It would be news hard to miss as their extended departure seemed likely to drag on into 2022. First it was Summer Newman (Hunter King) who left town, then it was Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), then they both reunited, then they both decided to stay gone, then … well, you get the point.

For now this exit that stretched on waaay too long is mercifully said and done.

How final is the exit? King has a primetime show dangling in the wind and she told Soap Opera Digest that she us done at Y&R, “at the moment.”

“You may see Summer and Kyle at some point soon,” she said. This could mean the show will drop a video call or two between the pair and their loved ones, or it could mean the actors come back full on. Who knows?
Keeping all her irons in the fire, the blonde stated that she is, “definitely open to coming back and popping in for a visit.”

Mealor told SOD that he is, “always open” to a return. And he teased that Skyle are on a Roman Holiday but, “maybe there will be a little vacation to Genoa City sometime soon.”

If you are a Skyle fan this is music to your ears. If you would like the pace to pick up and for the writers to pump some new life into the show, the news is meh. There is a lot of new ground to cover, like Kyle’s dad Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) finally getting his Teardrop of Love love interest already.
