Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) heard the candid confrontational conversation Thomas was having with Justin Barber (Aaron Spears) in the mechanical room of the building where Spencer Publications is based. Thomas was pleading with his captor to release him so that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) could also gain his freedom.

It was natural for Hope to try and free Thomas from the cage Justin was keeping him in. But alerting the authorities about the predicament could have accomplished that goal, while also causing Justin’s arrest.

Thomas had no idea that Justin turned on Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) when he unexpectedly saw him at Forrester Creations, in what seems like a few days ago in soapy time. Justin wasn’t acting in Bill and Liam’s defense when he applied his fist to Thomas’ jaw, instantly knocking him unconscious.

Thomas’ loss of consciousness didn’t parallel Liam’s fall to the ground on Mulholland Drive. The sight of Vincent Walker (Joe LoCicero) expiring caused Liam’s blackout and created the scenario that led Bill to create an unnecessary cover-up.

B&B Spoilers – Hope Spencer Was On It

Justin made two terrible mistakes when he put Thomas’ smartphone in Bill’s desk drawer and also left it on. But Spears’ character wasn’t and isn’t thinking straight, due to the intensity of the situation he’s created.

Hope’s identification of the Douglas Forrester (Henry Samiri) inspired ringtone on Thomas’ phone was the break fans were waiting for. That tune allowed Hope to know that Justin wasn’t being truthful with her.

Following him to the mechanical room took guts and likely included the use of rubber-heeled shoes. Hope’s drive paid off, with Liam’s ten million to one odds of hitting Vinny soon explained.
