Fans know that Zarter’s engagement was broken by Carter when he learned about Zoe’s repeated, aggressive flirtations with Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz).

The audience realizes exactly why Sofer’s character was written into a scene where she suddenly appeared and then volunteered her advice to Zoe about Carter. That happenstance would have been unusual on its own, but makes sense if B&B is planning another Queric betrayal storyline, where Quinn pursues or develops a relationship with Carter.

The setup came when Quinn coerced Zoe into spiking Paris Buckingham’s (Diamond White) drink with a sound-inducing stomach elixir. That scenario was also a reminder that Quinn poured alcohol into Brooke Logan Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) juice bottle last year.

An easy projection is that Queric is faltering and will end when Eric becomes aware of Quinn’s interest in Carter. But this is daytime, so the trigger can’t be pulled quickly.

In the weeks ahead Carter’s recognition of and potential response to Quinn’s anticipated overtures will be important. The volume of characters who will become aware of this potential or what’s actually happening will be crucial as well.

It’s reasonable to believe that Zoe, who sees Quinn as a confidant, and Ridge, who just became aware that his dad is still considering his wife’s place in his life, will play significant roles in the unfolding drama on B&B.
