What Liam is actually saying, without realizing it, is that he wants to get what happened out of his conscience and out into the verbalized world. That would provide him with a moment of relief, but also spark an intense response from Hope to start.

What Liam and Steffy did may mean that they are having another child. If they’re not, then Steffy believes that she and Finn, along with Lope, can remain on the same couple’s courses.

So, even if Steffy has the dual paternity test conducted and Finn is confirmed as the father, Sinn and Lope could still face heave repercussions in the near future.

Liam’s attempt to be honest would seem to give him and Steffy a chance to keep their relationships intact, verses withholding information and then hoping it’s never exposed. Yes, this is another classic daytime conflict, with various sets of outcomes in play.
