The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is hoping that the answer is yes. He and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are proceeding with a paternity test that is believed to be ninety-nine percent accurate.

While Finn has been presented as a stand-up guy, B&B fans can wonder if the intensity of circumstances will compel the doctor to put his thumb on the outcome scale. Novlan’s character could use his medical connections to influence the outcome of the paternity test, or somehow change it himself.

On a totally upbeat note, Wood and her husband are expecting their second child in the nearing future. Her reveal to TPTB at B&B last year presented an option, with the writing staff being told to create another Steffy pregnancy.

Wood will leave the cast for an extended period of time, as she did in the past when having her first child. An estimate of her absence would be in the few month range.

So, Steffy will be written out of the show when Wood takes her planned leave. The actor will return, by summer at the latest, as Steffy gets set to give birth to Finn, or Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) child.

B&B Spoilers – A Clean Answer Would Be Best

Finn is confirmed as the father in Steffy’s ideal world. That would allow Sinn to form into the family Steffy and her new love desires.

No later reveal needs to take place where the test results were said to be wrong. That pesky one percent error margin wouldn’t be hit. Separately, neither Finn nor any other character would be identified as doctoring the results to change the outcome.

But drama would be caused by the one percent solution, or in seeing Finn be retroactively tagged as a bad guy. Those outcomes would seem to provide the more useful plot paths forward, with Finn potentially surviving that fall from grace and remaining in the show.

Finn previously proved that he is an ethical doctor. As Liam recalls, Finn acknowledged that he was developing feelings for Steffy and should have removed himself from her case sooner than he did.

Any considered or impulsive choice Finn would make to change the paternity test results would be a mistake. He wouldn’t be a bad guy, but would be someone who got carried away because his love for Steffy and due to a belief that he was meeting her goal for him to be confirmed as the father of her next child.
