Sophie Wessex Hints Meghan Markle Didn’t Have Enough Time To Adjust To Royal Life

If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Sophie Wessex in the past year, it’s that she definitely knows how to be very diplomatic, especially when it comes to her choice of words. In fact, Sophie was very careful in suggesting that one of the reasons why things didn’t work out for the Duchess of Sussex at Buckingham Palace is simply because things were so rushed between her and Prince Harry. Here’s what she has to say.

Sophie Wessex Hints Meghan Markle Didn’t Have Enough Time To Adjust To Royal Life

While Sophie was never really that close to the Duchess of Sussex, she says that she did try her best to make Meghan feel as though she was part of the royal family. Speaking to The Sunday Times’ Christina Lamb about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave the royal family, Sophie says that all she wishes for the couple is for them to be happy. She also mentioned that she, along with others, always try to help any new members of the family fit in. After all, it’s certainly not easy transitioning from being a private person to a member of the British monarchy and especially in the way that Meghan did in such a short time, too.

Sophie also pointed out that she had much more time to adjust to the royal spotlight than Meghan Markle did. Prince Harry and Meghan only dated for two short years before they decided to get married. Even Prince William reportedly told his brother, Prince Harry, that he was moving too fast with Meghan.

She added, “Remember I’d had five years to adjust. And for our six-month engagement, I was even staying at Buckingham Palace. Not that you necessarily know how it will pan out.”

So, does this mean that many members of the royal family believe that Harry and Meghan could have slowed things down in the past? Maybe. Now, as far as what will happen next, remains to be seen!
