Discover what happened to what looked like Sharon’s permanent position on the popular talk show… and what’s in her future.
File this one under “think before you speak.”
Sharon Obourne was chatting about Piers Morgan, a British TV personality who has continually slammed Meghan Markle. In her usual direct style, Sharon defended Piers. Not a problem, right?
Well, not exactly. The issue began when Osbourne argued with another co-host on The Talk, Sheryl Underwood. Sharon and Sheryl heated up the debate to the point where Osbourne seemed to be out-yelling Underwood.
Result: A hiatus for the show, a review conducted by the talk show’s network, CBS, and a statement from CBS that Sharon had, ahem, “decided to leave The Talk” and that her attitude toward the other stars on that episode “did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”
However, Osbourne apparently isn’t planning on exiting without banking big bucks, despite the fact that many viewers as well as the network felt that Sharon was the one with the racist attitude.
An insider told The Post that Sharon is banking “a $5 to $10 million minimum payout and was able to spin that it was her decision [to leave the show].”
And the impression that Osbourne is getting out with a sweet deal doesn’t stop there. Another source revealed that in addition to the millions, Sharon succeeded in keeping her freedom to dish the dirt. When will that happen?
“Sharon will talk when she is ready,” said the insider. “She still wants to give her side of the story. She has been on that show for 11 years and knows all the secrets.”
In addition, Osbourne reportedly chose a highly regarded entertainment attorney, Jeremiah Reynolds, to represent her. He allegedly made sure that she succeeded in getting what she wanted from the network.
The now-former co-host on The Talk didn’t want to leave “without a fight … She knows where all the bodies are buried,” added one of the sources.
As for the statement from CBS, Sharon’s lawyers reportedly had a role in inking the release in order to allow her to stay on TV. That could lead to gigs at NBC, ABC, or any of the other networks.
