Royal Family News: Why Are Prince Harry’s ‘Friends’ Not Speaking Up For Him?

Prince HarryBritish royal family news reveals that Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s squad has been talking her up in light of her outrageous Oprah Winfrey interview and decision not to attend Prince Philip’s funeral with her husband Prince Harry. Conversely, no one has said much in support of Harry, so what gives?

Why have his friends been mostly silent after he dropped the bombastic Megxit and trashed his family in the Oprah interview? Experts are talking and here’s what they have to say.

Royal Family News – Why Are Prince Harry’s Friends Not Talking In His Defense?

Chrissy Teigen’s connection to Meghan is that they were Briefcase Girls on Deal or No Deal at the same time. According to her, Meghan is, “just as kind as everyone says she is.” Which could be an endorsement or a sly dig.

When Meghan was criticized for not attending Prince Philip’s funeral earlier this month professional royal watcher Omid Scobie asserted that she was just trying not to be the “center of attention” at the funeral. Which come to think of it isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of her either.

Royal Family News – Where Are Prince Harry’s Friends?

Author Michelle Ruiz says, “While friends of Meghan, including Jessica Mulroney and Lindsay Roth, have spoken out in her defense, many in Harry’s circle have remained quiet because they’re friends with both princes.”

Harry and his brother Prince William were once close, with just two years between them.

One friend, Thomas van Straubenzee, attended prep school with both brothers. Another, filmmaker Arthur Landon is a friend of both royals, as is nightclub owner Guy Pelly, and the son of Richard Branson, Sam Branson.

Thomas van Straubenzee is Princess Charlotte’s godfather, and William and Harry are patrons of a memorial fund in tribute to Thomas’s late brother.

Royal Family News – Prince Harry Is Back In The US

Harry’s friend and former British Army training partner Dean Stott told Vanity Fair, “You can’t go against one or the other.”

Still, only a few of the Duke of Sussex’s posse have defended him in the media in recent years.

One of them, Argentine polo player Nacho Figueras talked about Harry and Meghan but that was way back in 2017 and far removed from their Megxit bombshell and trash-talking on Oprah. He told Hello! US, “I can say that I’m very happy for him. If he’s happy, I’m happy. He’s a guy that I like very much and he deserves the best.”
