The drastic statement was issued by the queen who is now anxious to step forward with a new look and a “new beginning” for the royals who remain.
Megxit was to be reviewed in March but on Friday the Queen declared that the pair’s commercial ventures in the US are incompatible with royal duty and stripped them of their patronages. In light of the pruning of the family tree she now wants the new-look unit to be a visible force, making public engagements as soon as possible.
Palace officials have branded the new group the “magnificent seven.” It includes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex who are expected to move in unison following the diasterous defection of Meghan and Harry.
The Queen’s decision to remove the honorary titles and roles given to the couple came on Friday after a series of highly publicized events for the family. At the time Her Majesty stated that their celeb lifestyle in the US is not compatible with a royal “life of public service” in the UK.
The monarch was “saddened” by the choice and stated that the pair would remain “much loved members of the family.”
The hotheaded couple quickly retorted, “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
Prince Harry lost his military roles, and the presidency of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, as well as the role of patron at the Rugby Football Union, the Rugby Football League and the London Marathon Charitable Trust.
Prior to the decision Harry and Meghan announced they are expecting a second child via a black-and-white photograph of them lying on the grass at their £11million mansion, then announced that they are doing a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During the same week 99-year old Prince Philip was admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed ailment. He is expected to remain there for an unspecified period of time.
