Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Made Up Ashley Cole Dating Rumors?

British royal family news reveals that Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex almost snagged herself a British soccer star instead of a prince: think how different the world would be today if that had happened. No doubt the monarchy will once it gets wind of this bombshell news.

According to reports Meghan Thee Duchess was this close to hooking up with former Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole. It almost happened during a trip to London, before she turned Harry’s head.

Meghan and Harry were engaged in 2017 and married the following year. Prior to this her claim to fame was trotting across the stage as a skimpily dressed Suitcase Girl on a cheesy game show. She dreamed big however and allegedly talked up UK journalists for help in bagging a Brit. One reporter spilled that she specifically asked about Cole.

He had just broken up with his girlfriend Cheryl and Meghan was reported to have dished that he was “trying really hard” to talk to her online. The dad-of-two is now with Italian model Sharon Canu.

According to Katie Hind, of the Mail on Sunday, Meghan had a chat with UK journalists in 2013. At that time the thirsty girl showed her a photo of Cole and asked for her opinion.

She allegedly claimed that Cole asked to take her on a date while she was in London. Meghan intimated that “some friends” warned her away from the ex-athlete.

Meghan apparently said, “He follows me and he keeps trying to talk to me on Twitter. He’s trying really hard. He wants to go out on a date while I’m over here in London. What do you think? Do you know him?”

Royal Family News – Meghan Markle Made a Bold Claim

According to Ashley’s brother Matty, Meghan was apparently fantasizing. He claimed that there is zero truth in the rumor.

Matty Cole told The Sun, “It’s nonsense, completely made up. He definitely wouldn’t have to beg Meghan Markle for a date. She’s not the kind of girl he goes for anyway, and he’s never fancied her.”

At any rate, Ashley is out of Meghan’s league as he is happily spoken for. He told the Telegraph in 2019, “I’d say I’ve grown up. I was a young, angry kid at the time and now I’ve grown up and understood the things I did in life, it happens.”

“Not just me, but with certain situations, loads of other people have done [the same]. I’ve learned from it, it’s made me a better person. It’s made me a great dad.”

“These are the things I focus on now – my kids and my girlfriend. It’s a different me, I’m more of a family man now. You won’t see me in nightclubs anymore, you’ll see me at a park pushing my kids.”
