The Royals news and updates tease that fans will finally see Kate Middleton as she’s expected to visit Afghanistan evacuation teams after taking a two-month break from her summer duties. Kate was out of the public eye during the summer season.
Royal Family News: Kate to Visit RAF Brize Norton
The Duchess of Cambridge is scheduled to visit the RAF Brize Norton, an air force base, on Wednesday to meet the servicemen, women, and others who helped with the evacuation of 15,000 people out of Kabul.
She will talk with some of the people who played a part in the biggest humanitarian effort in more than 70 years that involved jetting out thousands of people from the Kabul airport through the Royal Air Force after the Taliban took over the country. At that time, Brize Norton became one of the entry hubs to the UK.
The Duchess Of Cambridge To Talk To Afghanistan Evacuation Teams
The Duchess will be talking to the RAF aircrew, medics, civilians, and volunteers at the Kabul airport and the Repatriation center at the base. While being processed, the evacuees were provided with their needs like food, clothes, medical support, childcare supplies, and sanitary products.
RAF Transport Aircraft Helps With the Evacuation
RAF Brize Norton provided a fleet of RAF transport aircraft that flew 24/7 to help with the evacuation. One aircraft, the RAF C17 Globemaster, managed to evacuate as many as 439 passengers in a single flight. While some aircraft carried people, others carried urgent supplies ranging from baby food to clothing.
Kate’s visit to the airbase comes after it was reported that Prince William helped with the evacuation of an Afghan army officer and his family from Kabul. The prince reportedly knows the unnamed officer because they trained together at Sandhurst Military Academy in 2006.
Kate’s Summer Break
The last time she was seen in public was with Prince William and Prince George back on July 11 when they attended the championships for the Wimbledon tennis finals and the European soccer. At the weekend, Kate, William, and their kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis, went to France to attend the wedding of her brother James Middleton to Alizée Thevenet.
With the kids back in school since last week, Kate and William now have more time to perform their public duties. The Royals already have a plan for their upcoming outings in the coming weeks.
