Prince William And Kate Middleton Protect Their Children

Prince William and Kate Middleton mean business when it comes to their kids.  Royal sources believe that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are being extra cautious about which public appearances their children should be making, especially in this age of social media where everybody has an opinion – no matter how ill directed those opinions may be.

After the social media backlash directed at Prince George as a result of his appearance at the Euro 2020 games, the royal parents of three are determined to protect their children’s privacy and to keep them away from the spotlight as much as possible.

Royal Reporters Reveal That Prince George Will Be Protected From Intense Media Scrutiny

Prince George, 8, is the eldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton and is the third in line to the throne, after his grandfather Prince Charles and his father Prince William. This makes him the target of intense media scrutiny following every one of his public appearances and that kind of attention can be tough on an eight-year-old.

“Of course, William and Kate are nervous about what the future holds for George,” a friend of the couple told Us Weekly, on Friday.

“He’s growing up in a different era to his parents,” the source explained. “Times have changed since then. There wasn’t social media or internet trolls when William and Kate were children.”

The source continued by claiming that the couple are now more mindful of protecting their children’s privacy and want to limit the royal events that their children will attend.

“The Cambridges feel it’s necessary to shield George, Charlotte and Louis from the spotlight and have become cautious about the appearances [they] make,” the source told the outlet. “Kate and William are being more selective about the events he attends.”

On Wednesday, a royal commenter said that William and Kate are looking forward to giving George a normal upbringing: “Kate and William want George to have a normal life,” adding that they “don’t want him to grow up too quickly.”

Per the outlet, raising George with a sense of normalcy extends outside the walls of the palace. “He’s not called Prince George at school and is simply known as George,” the insider shared. “He mixes with children his own age. Kate and William don’t shower him with expensive gifts nor do they over spoil him… George makes his bed every morning.”

How Prince George Prepares To Become King

Royal author Robert Lacey, who also works as an official consultant on Netflix’s hit series “The Crown”, revealed that Prince George found out that he is the future king of Britain “sometime around his seventh birthday.”

In Lacey’s updated book, “Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult”, the biographer wrote about Prince George growing into his role.

“William has not revealed to the world how and when he broke the big news to his son,” wrote Lacey. “Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself. But sometime around the boy’s seventh birthday in the summer of 2020, it is thought that his parents went into more detail about what the little prince’s life of future royal ‘service and duty’ would particularly involve.”

“William’s aim as a father, the prince stressed, was to give his son ‘a normal family upbringing,’ enabling the monarchy ‘to stay relevant and keep up with modern times,’” Lacey added.
