NFL Star Zac Stacy Brutally Beats Ex – Tells Cops ‘She Set Me Up’

Sports news reveals that former NFL running back Zac Stacy is the subject of fresh controversy days after he, “ruthlessly beat his ex at her Florida home,” according to TMZ. The outlet reports that Stacy informed law enforcement officials that the savage attack on Kristin Evans was “staged” by her and he stated that the altercation was a result of his ex setting him up because she was “bitter” that he no longer wanted to be involved with her.
Today TMZ Sports obtained his conversation with cops which was recorded on police video. Evans, the mother of Stacy’s months-old son, disputes the athlete’s version of events.
NFL News: Zac Stacy Was Arrested
In the arrest video Stacy speaks to responding officers from the Orlando Police Dept. and insists that, “the events that led up to the Nov. 13 altercation … was staged.”
Stacy told the officers, “It’s just a case of just bitterness, man. That’s why she did this. The whole assault thing, she staged it. She set me up.”
He went on to say, “The whole thing was staged. All she’s trying to do is get money out of me. She got a reaction out of me.”
Zac Stacy Arrest Conversation Released
Stacy then said that he thinks his ex was upset with him because, “he didn’t want to continue a romantic relationship with her.”
Stacy played for the St. Louis Rams and New York Jets and asserted to officers that his ex, “knew he wasn’t in a good place mentally (he said he had just gotten out of rehab for anxiety and depression), and she used that to get ‘a reaction out of me.’”
According to him, “She knew I was down, she knew I was going through anxiety and depression. She knew I was trying to close this gap that’s between me and my son and she’s just upset that she got caught and she’s upset I’m not taking care of him like she expected. And now she took it this far.”
Zac Stacy’s Ex Speaks Out
Stacy said, “This is just a case of just girl is just bitter that I don’t want to be with her and she’s just trying to destroy my whole reputation ’cause of this s***,” but he admitted to officers that he knew his behavior was, “f***ed up.”
“I don’t know what man — how any man could have handled that situation,” he is heard saying. The 30-year-old was booked on charges of felony aggravated battery and felony criminal mischief and is now out on bond.
Hours after publishing the police video conversation, Stacy’s ex issued a video statement in which she said, “I don’t know how you can stage getting your ass beat. This is what abusers do. They will make you seem like you’re the crazy one and that they’re the victim.”
