People are calling out Madonna after she was accused of photoshopping her face onto a younger woman’s body while promoting album Rebel Heart in 2015.
TikTok user Amelia M. Goldie has claimed in a viral video, the iconic singer had Photoshopped her face onto Goldie’s body, using the image to promote her album on Instagram six years ago.
Goldie Was Shocked To Find A Picture Of Her Body With Madonna’s Face On the Singer’s Instagram
Earlier this month, Goldie uploaded a TikTok with the caption “When Madonna posts a photo of herself to IG to promote her album but it’s actually your body (I’m not joking).” In the clip, Goldie compares a photo of herself with the promotional image that Madonna had shared for Rebel Heart, explaining that the 62-year-old songstress had photo of her (Goldie’s) body and edited it to include her face.
Goldie has revealed in interviews that she initially thought it was a joke. She said, “I laughed and thought it was a joke then realised it was on her official account and couldn’t believe it. I was in shock,” adding, “ I told my parents and they still think it’s a joke and can’t comprehend how or why it’s happened. It’s hilarious.”
The Image Is Still Up On Madonna’s Official Instagram
The video, which has been viewed more than two million times, prompted confused reactions from viewers, many of whom began digging through Madonna’s Instagram to find the photo in question still up with the caption “I look kewl…” In a follow-up TikTok, the 28-year-old user confirmed that the photo is still on the singer’s social media page.
She also said that she had tried reaching out to the pop singer’s team through Instagram twice but received no response, continuing “I [would] definitely laugh and say I’m flattered, but of course that I wish I was credited!”
Fans Aren’t Pleased And Want The Singer To Set Things Right With Goldie
The “Material Girl” singer has not spoken out on the matter yet, and Goldie has taken it in good humour, saying “ “I’ve been told it’s a great ‘party flex,’ which makes me laugh. I told it at a job interview and they loved it.”
However, fans have been calling on her to make things right. Comments on her Instagram read, “Horrible photoshop and you’re a horrible thief!!!!”, with another person writing, “ “How is this even still up? You stole someone’s photograph. Guys seriously start reporting this photo whoever scrolls and finds this!!”
