See what Michelle Duggar and her husband shared about Anna below. And learn everything to know about Anna Duggar as well.
When TLC originally aired “19 Kids And Counting,” the clan’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar sought to portray themselves as the perfect patriarchs. And their oldest son Josh wanted to follow in their footsteps, working with his wife Anna to shine in the reality TV star spotlight. But then came the allegations of child molestation. Josh allegedly molested four of his sisters, and later admitted to using a website targeting those who wanted to be unfaithful to their wives.
But perhaps the harshest blow to the Duggar family image just got delivered. A trial ruled that Josh downloaded and possessed child sex abuse images. In the wake of that guilty verdict, his parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have finally spoken out. The couple remained silent throughout the trial, reported Today.
And one key takeaway from their statement focuses not on Josh but his wife Anna. Jim Bob and Michelle promised to support Anna and the couple’s seven children. “In the days ahead, we will do all we can to surround our daughter-in-law Anna and their children with love and support,” stated the Duggars. “As parents, we will never stop praying for Joshua, and loving him, as we do all of our children. In each of life’s circumstances, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and refuge. Thank you for your prayers.”
The ordeal for Anna Duggar began in April 2021. At that time, Josh Duggar faced federal charges of receiving and possessing child sex abuse images. The charges for the father of seven children included receiving images of kids under age 12. Josh pleaded not guilty.
But the trial resulted in a conviction on two charges. The first charge convicted Duggar of downloading the material, and the second charge found him guilty of receiving it. As for what that means for Anna and her children?
Josh could spend up to two decades in prison. And Duggar also might get fined as much as $250,000 for each count. In their statement, Josh’s parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar expressed awareness of the charges. “Our hearts and prayers are with anyone who has ever been harmed through CSAM (child sex abuse material),” stated the Duggars. “This entire ordeal has been very grievous,” the statement read. “Today, God’s grace, through the love and prayers of so many, has sustained us.”
What do you think the future holds for Anna and her seven kids if Josh gets sentenced to decades in prison? Do you believe that Jim Bob and Michelle will, as they promised, support the entire family? Share your views with us. And then check back on our site for more news about the Duggars.
