The Sister Wives – Meri Brown Is Kody Brown’s First Wife

Sister Wives Meri Brown is Kody’s first wife and was born on January 16, 1971. The 51-year-old Sister Wives star met Kody in 1989 when one of his sisters introduced them. Kody proposed to Meri on December 24, 1989, and they were married on April 21, 1990. When Meri and Kody first married she wanted to have eight children with him. However, with their struggles getting pregnant and Meri’s unfortunate miscarriage in 2007, Kody and Meri have one child together, Mariah Brown.

Kody and Meri were legally married until December of 2014 when Meri and Kody divorced so he could legally marry his fourth wife, Robin Sullivan. Kody needed to be legally married to Robin to adopt her three older children from a previous marriage. Meri has remained spiritually married to Kody since their divorce. However, Kody and Meri no longer have a romantic relationship after her catfishing incident in 2015, shortly after their divorce. Kody never got past the incident and currently says he has no romantic feelings toward Meri.

Sister Wives Janelle Brown is Kody’s second wife. Janelle was born on May 6, 1969, and is 52 years old. Kody and Janelle were introduced by Meri Brown. Janelle’s ex-husband is Meri’s brother. Janelle and Kody were spiritually married on January 20, 1993. Kody and Janelle have six children together. Janelle has worked as a real estate agent and currently works with Christine Brown in a private business.

Sister Wives Christine Brown is Kody’s third wife and has recently left the family. Christine was born on April 18, 1972, and is 49 years old. Christine met Kody in 1990 and became friends with Kody and Meri. Christine decided she wanted to join the plural family and after talking to her father, she began courting Kody. Kody asked Christine out on Valentine’s day 1994 where he proposed. Christine and Kody were married on March 25, 1994. After six children together, Kody and Christine announced that they had split on November 2, 2021.

Sister Wives Robyn Brown became Kody’s fourth wife spiritually in 2010. Robyn was born on October 9, 1978. Robyn was married and divorced before she met Kody. Robyn brought three children to the union from her previous marriage. Robyn and Kody were legally married on December 11, 2014, after Kody’s divorced his first wife, Meri, to adopt Robyn’s children. Robyn and Kody have two children together as well.

Now that Christine has left the family, it is unclear if Kody will add another wife to the family in the future.
