GH Spoilers: Victor Responsible For The Hit On Laura, Not Cyrus Renault?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that although it was said that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) hired the assassin that were sent to kill both Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and their shared half-brother Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight), Cyrus claims he had nothing to do with it. And while Cyrus is a career criminal capable of just about anything, he has never really wanted Laura dead. The only time it became a possibility is when Cyrus held her hostage and he said that if he died, she would too. But Cyrus has always seemed to need Laura’s love and approval, so killing her seemed out of character from the beginning.

At the time word broke out that Laura and Martin were in danger, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) hadn’t yet revealed to the world that he was alive. Since Laura knows how dangerous all the Cassadine’s are and how they think. Victor might have wanted to get Laura out of the way before he came to town. And to keep people from finding out he was alive too soon, he could easily have made it look like Cyrus was guilty.

GH Spoilers – Victor Cassadine Wants To Entire Cassadine Family To Band Together!

Victor revealed on Thanksgiving that he wants the Cassadine family to stop their petty squabbling and come together. He hinted at a threat to the family that is coming, but didn’t provide further details. Victor knows that Laura has spent her life trying to keep both Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) from the darker impulses that come with being a Cassadine. Laura has mentioned that Nikolas seems to be embracing those darker tendencies. But she won’t stop fighting for either Nikolas or Spencer.

But Laura won’t be alone in her concern. Nikolas’ wife, Ava Jerome (Maura West) has made it clear that she doesn’t want Nikolas involved in any of the Cassadine’s usual foolishness. She doesn’t want another Ice Princess disaster where the entire family threatened to freeze Port Charles solid. And Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) did some pretty wild things too, just because she hated the Spencer family. But Victor is a charming man, and it seems likely that Spencer will fall under his influence unless Laura can stop him. Nikolas is less trusting of Victor, but Victor’s knowledge regarding the fate of Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) should keep Nikolas in line.

Now that Laura is returning to Port Charles, the threat against her life is still in play. And if Cyrus really is innocent, it’s most likely Victor who wants her dead. Can she stay alive long enough to figure out what Victor is up to?
