General Hospital viewers will remember that Anna protected Peter for several years, once she had memories flash up in her mind that she had given birth to Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) child. She didn’t know for sure if the memories were hers or those of her twin sister, Alexandra Devane Marick (Finola Hughes) because of the memory transfer experiment they were subjected to all those years ago. They were Patient One and Patient Two of Dr. Arthur Cabot’s (Time Winters) early memory transfer experiments. It has only been comparatively recently that Anna has found out for sure that Peter is her nephew, not her son.
Recently, after talking with her old buddy from spy school, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) they both realized that Peter had been lying to them – and Anna could no longer give Peter the benefit of the doubt. It was then that Anna and Valentin knew that Peter had to be stopped, and did manage to stop Peter’s wedding to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and opened her eyes to who and what he really is as well. Now, as Jason and Anna talk in Peter’s newspaper office “The Invader” Anna and Jason talk about her letting herself be deceived by Peter, and her protection of him for so long, and her guilt for doing so. Peter himself doesn’t seem to be anywhere around, so they have a good talk about him behind his back!
Jason seems to be in the middle of a conversation with Anna when the scene picks up, as he tells her she was wrong, but it’s not on her alone. Anna tells Jason she’s not so sure that’s true. Jason shows compassion for Anna as he tells her it is not so unusual to want someone to do better. He then says he has to give it to Peter, that he is really good at manipulation, and even better at covering his tracks! Anna then tells Jason he didn’t fall for it! Jason then talks about the parent-child relationship Anna has with Peter, who she had believed was her son for so long. Jason goes on to say that he didn’t have to think Peter was his son, and so he didn’t have to believe in him like Anna did. Anna turns, and says she gets it.
Jason tells her it’s ok – and reminds Anna that she’s human, telling her not to be so hard on herself, in so many words. Anna thanks him for that, and then tells him he doesn’t understand how far it went! General Hospital viewers will remember how far it went – Anna had gotten a whole file of evidence showing Peter had worked in a company in Europe with David Black, (Lon Gowan) the hit man that Peter stopped in the operating room while Dr. Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) was trying to return Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) memories to him. Peter made himself out a hero by killing Black, but he was the one who hired him in the first place! But she held on to that for over two years! Jason already knows everything that Peter did pertaining to Drew Cain (Billy Miller) but now they need to prove it!
