General Hospital Comings & Goings: Nicolas Bechtel Says Goodbye

General Hospital comings and goings spoilers reveal a brand-new Spencer Cassadine in Port Charles. Nicholas Chavez is now playing the role of Nikolas Cassadine’s teenage son, taking over for Nicolas Bechtel, who played Spencer off and on from 2013-2020.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nicolas Bechtel Moves On From GH

Nicholas Chavez made his full debut on the July 5, 2021, episode, revealing his face to Trina (Sydney Mikayla) although not his name. He is calling himself Victor but gave away the end game with the word “Father” and that photo of him, Nik, and Laura on his phone. After that scene aired, Nicolas Bechtel took to Twitter with the following message:

“Spencer suffered third degree burns at his own birthday party, spent time with the spirit of his Mother, ran away, was kidnapped, tampered with an election and broke his legs skiing in the Swiss Alps. It’s been a great run…thank you for all your love and support,” Bechtel tweeted, with co-star Eden McCoy responding with one word: “Legend.”

Bechtel has only appeared on General Hospital sporadically since 2016 when he left the soap to take a regular role in the Disney Channel series titled Stuck In The Middle. Spencer was sent off to boarding school by his grandmother, Laura (Genie Francis), after Nikolas (then, Tyler Christopher) was presumed dead. He did return when Bechtel found time for GH and last appeared in early 2020 when Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) had returned from the dead and wanted to make things up with his son.

GH Spoilers – Spencer Cassadine’s Future

Now that Spencer Cassdine is back in Port Charles it looks like he’s going to be paired with Trina, but first he’s going to have to come to terms with his father being in love with Ava (Maura West) and wanting to be married to this woman he hates. Now that we know Spencer has been Ava’s stalker for all of these months (which fans suspected), then it’s clear he still has many issues with his new stepmother.

He already has a rapport with Trina despite the fact that he completely ruined her graduation party with a ceiling full of blood, but she doesn’t know that — yet. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how Spencer’s story plays out.
