Not a minute too soon, the beans were finally spilled about Roger Howarth’s new character Austin. He’s actually playing Austin Gatlin-Holt, the son of Jimmy Lee Holt and Charity Gatlin.

Austin dropped his truth bomb last week in a stunning display of bravado and a twist of hubris. Although the good doc likes to make out like he’s just a humble old country GP, there are clues that he thinks mighty highly of himself.

Soap legend Cameron Mathison is said to be taping. He is best known to daytimers as Ryan Lavery on All My Children.

Although he has been seen on set, there is no official word yet as to who he is playing. Many fans are speculating that the handsome and talented actor was brought on board to play back-from-the-dead Drew Cain a role previously played by Billy Miller.

Ok fans, let’s unpack some of these coming and goings. What did you think about the reveal that Austin is really a Quartermaine? And how about the way he did it, busting into an ELQ meeting with his lawyer and a file full of evidence to back him up? Bravado is something he is not lacking. Which should serve him well going up against the Q’s.

And are you thinking that Lenny’s time on earth is coming to an end, an end that might result in Phyllis going to Port Chuck? Fans would love to see her stay on and perhaps relocate with Smike, whether or not he has his memories back by then.
