There are basically two people that officiate weddings in Salem. Mayor Abe is one of them and Marlena is the other. With Abe marrying Paulina, the mayor certainly can’t officiate his own nuptials. So, that means Marlena will likely fill that position and be asked to marry the two.

This is something that Paulina is desperate to keep hidden, which makes it more likely that the devil will expose it in the most destructive way.

Carlivati confirmed that Paulina’s guilt will intensify as the wedding gets closer. The scribe also said that there will be huge implications when the truth comes out.

So you think, ‘Wow, if Abe was upset that Paulina was going to take a wrecking ball to Horton Town Square, how is he going to feel that she, in a matter of speaking, takes his daughter away from him?’ To have that secret come out and have maximum impact, we ultimately decided that we would build toward Abe and Paulina’s wedding.”

Since every Salem wedding has to be full of drama, the secret will likely come out while Abe and Paulina are at the altar. Since nobody except Marlena, Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) and Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) know the truth, how will it be exposed?
