Days Of Our Lives News: Vanessa A. Williams Joins ‘The L Word: Generation Q’ Cast

Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Vanessa A. Williams (Valerie Grant) has been busy with projects outside of her role on Days of our Lives. She debuted on the NBC sudser five years ago and has been seen sporadically since then. In her downtime she has been booked solid so let’s catch up on all of her latest acting projects!

First off, Variety is reporting that the lovely and talented actress has been cast on the second season of Showtime’s L Word: Generation Q.

It will be a recurring role and Williams is slated to play Pippa Pascal. The show describes this character as, “an incendiary artist who’s been out of the public eye for almost 20 years — until Bette becomes determined to track her down.”

The show stars Jennifer Beals as Bette, Katherine Moennig as Shane, and Leisha Hailey as Alice. Other cast members of popular series include Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, and Sepideh Moafi. The series is a new take on the original series The L Word which aired for five seasons from 2004 to 2009.

In the second season of the series fans can also look forward to appearances from Rosie O’Donnell, Griffin Dunne, and Donald Faison.

Williams can be also seen this year in a follow-up to the classic horror film, Candyman. It was written by Jordan Peele and the actress will reprise her role as Anne-Marie McCoy from the original 1992 film.

Last but not least, Williams completed filming on BET’s “A Rich Christmas” in late 2020.

More than four decades ago the character of Valerie Grant (then actress Tina Andrews and later Rose Fonseca) was part of the show’s first interracial romance with Julie Horton’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) son, David Banning.

When Williams debuted in the role it was revealed that she and David had a son, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey). Sadly, David died offscreen without meeting Eli.

Valerie has shown romantic promise with Abe Carver through the years but has remained based in Washington D.C. This has made a romance between the doctor and the mayor difficult but now that Elani have had their twins, perhaps we will be seeing more of the new grandma?
