Days of Our Lives (DOOL) comings and goings indicate that a familiar face will soon be returning to Salem, and that’s because actor Kyle Lowder is returning to reprise his role as Rex Brady. For Kyle, he says that he was incredibly happy to receive that all-important phone call from the producers of the show to come back to the one place that he has always considered as his second home. Here’s what he has to say.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Kyle says that he was excited to return to the set of the hit NBC soap for two reasons. The first one was that he couldn’t wait to get back into Rex’s character and his wardrobe and the second was because this was his first time working since Covid-19 began early last year. Kyle admits that this was the longest time in his adult life that he’s been without work.

He told the publication, “I thought to myself, ‘The second that I go back to work I am going to be the most grateful person,’ and that’s exactly what happened. So, I’m driving to the studio, at like 4:45 in the morning, I was so consumed with gratitude. But I was going that early because you have to get tested every morning and the results take about two hours. But I didn’t care. I was happy to have a call time and be back on set again because the entertainment business had been shut down for so long.”

DOOL Comings And Goings – What’s Next For Rex Brady?

With that said, Kyle admitted that the vibe had certainly changed since the last time he was on the set of the show. But, he certainly didn’t waste any time reconnecting with of his old co-workers.

He continued, “The only people that I saw were the people I worked with, meaning Linsey Godfrey [Sarah Horton], Paul Telfer [Xander Cook] and so on. Anytime the Days of Our Lives phone rings, I’m there. I’m grateful for the time that I was given this time around.”
