We can tell you that a member of one of the world’s most notorious boy bands will soon make an appearance in Salem. Backstreet Boys alum and Dancing With the Stars contestant AJ McLean dropped the news on TikTok that we will soon see him on the NBC sudser.

On a sweet side note, the handsome and talented professional hyphenate added that he grew up watching the show with his grandmother. Aw!

Look for McLean to play a driver. Word is that he filmed his scenes last week and when we know more about his airdate we’ll let you know here.

Next comes news of a legendary actress joining the cast. Marla Gibbs has been cast as Olivia Price, Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) mother. The Price family keeps on expanding, the gift that keeps on giving.

On a fun sidenote, Harry and Gibbs previously worked together on the series 227. Fans can look forward to seeing Gibbs in her new role in mid-August. Will her arrival show fans where Paulina and her forward daughter get their sass from?

Since Paulina and her tempestuous daughter Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) came to town, Salem has been both shaken and stirred. Each woman is a force of nature and not content to let the status quo be. For now it looks like Paulina has backed down from her demolition of Horton Square and somehow Chanel has turned from a cookie monster into a cookie baker. Go figure.
