If you don’t know who Amy Doherty-Henize is, she worked for the Georgia tax department. She worked on the investigation into alleged tax and wire fraud from when Todd Chrisley lived in Georgia. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that she claimed that Todd publically accused her of abusing taxpayers’ money when she visited Disney. In fact, Todd not only posted about it on his Instagram but also discussed it on his Chrisley Confessions podcast. He called her out as getting her job through “nefarious means” as well. So she sued him for libel
Well, she always denied that she abused any funds, as her sister worked at the park and arranged a family pass for her. Meanwhile, the Chrisley Knows Best star never eased up on his witchhunt against those who attempted to investigate him. In fact, at one stage he claimed that his daughter LInsdie shared insider info to get him into trouble with the tax department. Later, it turned out that it was actually his son Kyle who did that. Amy put in her lawsuit for “$75,000 in compensatory” damages for damage to her reputation and emotional distress. However, Todd’s legal rep dismissed it as “frivolous” and an attempt to deny his right to “free speech.”
This weekend, Todd shared a meme that said, “The true mark of maturity is when someone hurts you and you try to understand instead of trying to hurt them back.” In his caption, Todd Chisley said, “Yep, when you truly let go of the person that hurt you then you no longer feel the need to hurt them back. I am grateful for those that have hurt me in my life, they taught me that anything is possible and that with Gods grace all things can be overcome.”
A lot of Chrisley Knows Best fans loved that he shared about understanding and hurt. One of them said, “Beautifully said. It’s a tough thing to learn. Love your wonderful family. Blessings and peace. ❤️?.” Then another fan commented, “So true wouldn’t it be a lovely world if we all thought like that instead of people thinking revenge is sweet good that there is a lot out there with a pure heart ❤️.”
With news about the lawsuit so fresh in their minds, some critics referred to that in the comments. One of them said, “Does that apply to the people in Georgia too?” Not alone, another fan replied saying, “I was thinking the same.” More people had the same thought, But one fan stuck up for Todd, saying, “I feel like someone hurting you is different from criminal acts.” Well, critics might think that’s a bit harsh given the fact that Amy Doherty-Henize never landed up prosecuted by the law but ended up publically scathed by Todd.
