90 Day Fiancé Stars Jenny And Sumit Test Positive For COVID In India

As India goes through a deadly wave of the COVID-19 virus, the country is in a bad way. Hospitals are short on oxygen and are struggling to treat their patients. As 90 Day Fiancé fans know, Jenny Slatten is in Goa, India, with her fiancé, Sumit Singh. Unfortunately, they have posted on Instagram to say they have both tested positive for the virus.

With the tragic news coming out of India, Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh’s fans and followers have shown concern about the pair. As soon as they saw the headlines, they were worried about them.

A couple of days ago, Sumit posted to their joint Instagram account to share the bad news. Posting a smiling photo of the pair, Sumit wrote, “Thank you all for praying for us. Thank you all for hoping the best for us and for wishing us good health and stay safe.”

“Sorry to inform you all that we both are Covid positive. We are doing okay and hoping to recover asap,” he added.

On Thursday, India’s Ministry of Health reported 204,832 deaths in the country from COVID-19. On top of this, India, the second-most populated country in the world, has reported more than 18.3 million cases of the virus, which makes India second only to the US.

Jenny hails from Palm Springs, California, and first starred in season one of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, when she traveled to India to be with Sumit. Jenny and Sumit appeared on the second season of the TLC reality show, which revealed their relationship problems. The main problem is Sumit’s parents, Anil and Sahna, who refuse to give their blessing for their marriage. At one stage, Sumit’s mother even threatened suicide if they wed.

Last year, Jenny spoke of the restrictions in India due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included a major lockdown. This, along with Anil and Sahna, badly hit their wedding plans. On the show, Jenny said, “We swore that nothing was going to stop us this time. And now bam! Everything’s been put on hold.”

Recent social media posts have been happy, as Jenny and Sumit share images of their life in laidback Goa. However, now with them both testing positive for the virus, the stress is hurting Jenny.

The major problem is that her visa is going to expire, but she cannot leave the country. This makes for a lot of uncertainty for the American woman. She said on the show that the only thing she can do is keep hoping they will continue to extend her visa.

Fans can currently catch Season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After on TLC, Sundays at 8 pm ET.
