90 Day Fiancé Star Sumit Puts Block On Marriage Behind Jenny’s Back

Last week on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Jenny and Sumit’s astrologer Khalid told them they can now get married. While admittedly, it can’t be a big, fancy temple wedding and they will have to wed in court, Jenny was thrilled. However, on the latest episode on Sunday, Sumit has caught a severe case of cold feet and now wants to block his marriage to Jenny – even worse, he does so behind her back.

In the previous episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, astrologer Khalid told Jenny and Sumit that it is now in their stars to get married. On top of this, Sumit’s parents, Sahna and Anil, have finally agreed to let them tie the knot. Naturally, Jenny is thrilled, while Sumit did admittedly show a little concern about the suddenness of getting married.

Meanwhile, things got worse on Sunday’s episode of the TLC reality show, with Sumit truly hesitant to move forward with the wedding. “Icy feet” is a better description than cold feet at this point. While Jenny’s visa is quickly running out to stay in India, Sumit has now decided to block the marriage.

When Jenny told him she wants to go to the courthouse to start the paperwork, Sumit told her he was still traumatized from his first arranged marriage. Speaking of their journey until now, Sumit told the cameras, “We fought for this, for nine years,” adding. “We fought everything. I got married, I got divorced. I go through all this trouble just to get married to Jenny, just to be with Jenny, and when the actual time comes, now I’m scared of marrying. But this is the way I feel.”

Sumit told Jenny he was scared because sometimes she gets mad at him and tells him she is going home to America.

“I don’t want to be part of any marriage, I don’t want to go to court,” he added. “I’m scared of that. Divorce changed me as a person. The person I was before and now, it’s a big difference.”

Jenny told Sumit that she understood, assuring him that he will never lose her. He then admitted that he had always been afraid of that, especially now that she is “everything” to him.

Jenny told him that she is not going anywhere, saying, “You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried.” She assured him that she loves him so much. In fact, she loves him more than anything, will never stop loving him and will never leave him.

Jenny and Sumit visited a lawyer and when he asked them to complete the paperwork on the spot to start the marriage procedure, Sumit was taken aback. He said he thought they were only there to get information from the lawyer. Speaking to the cameras, Sumit said, “I feel like I’m on a speeding train and I can’t jump out of it.”

For her part, Jenny told the cameras with a huge smile that she is excited and happy right now, adding, “This is the first step to starting our marriage process.”

Later in Sunday’s episode, Sumit visited his close friend Neeraj and confided in him about his marriage fears. Meanwhile, his friend is firmly on Jenny’s side, telling Sumit that Jenny has already sacrificed so much to be with him. Speaking of Sumit’s former marriage, Neeraj reminded him that it was an arranged marriage and that his situation with Jenny is completely different. He told him that he shouldn’t compare the two.

At this time, Sumit dropped the bombshell that he had privately called the lawyer after their meeting. In fact, he had told him to put a pause on the filing of their marriage paperwork. His friend was shocked by his words, bluntly telling him that what he did was wrong. Neeraj added that by doing so, Sumit would break Jenny’s trust and that he was “being a jerk.”

In his confessional, Sumit said he didn’t tell Jenny he was putting the marriage on hold because he didn’t want to hurt her and also because he knows she wants to get married as soon as possible.

Speaking to the cameras, he said, “If she gonna hear that I put the marriage on hold, she gonna get mad, she gonna get hurt, and I don’t wanna do that. It’s really scary when I think about it, to tell Jenny that I’m not ready for the marriage right now. This could spoil our relationship … this could be the end of the relationship, and I don’t want that to happen.”

The clip below, released by ET Online, ends with a preview for next Sunday’s episode, where Sumit does finally come clean to Jenny, leading to her walk out in anger. She says, “If I want Sumit to know how serious I am, then probably I should go.”
