90 Day Fiancé Star Sumit Opens Up On Tragic Death In The Family

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way stars Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten have enough complications in their life already. For years, Sumit has tried to get approval from his parents to marry Jenny, without success. On top of this, it turns out there is a further tragic reason why Sahna won’t accept Jenny, after a sad loss in the family.

All along, Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten have been having major complications in their relationship. His family refuses to accept their relationship, despite the fact that he is an adult. Sumit was involved in an arranged marriage which didn’t work out and he got divorced in order to be with Jenny. His mother, Sahna, has never forgiven him for the divorce and Sumit has opened up about why she is this way.

In a teaser for Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Sumit opens up about his upbringing, admitting he had been brought up to lie. His father has always backed down to his mother and he was expected to do the same – to keep the peace at all costs. Until today, he lies to protect his parents, but feels he wants to stand up and tell the truth.

Sumit speaks of the tragic loss of his sister, who was one-and-a-half years younger than him. She died at the age of eight months from jaundice and his mother has never gotten over this.

Singh explained that having a daughter is very important to Sahna. She lost her own daughter so young and when he was in the arranged marriage, she was happy to have a daughter, who helped around the house. By divorcing his wife, Sumit took this all away from her. Sahna now finds it impossible to accept Jenny, who is roughly the same age as her, as a daughter.

TLC 90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Sahna Holds Sumit Singh Responsible For The Loss

Due to the divorce, Sahna holds Sumit responsible for losing yet another daughter in her life. He, himself, sometimes feels that he has taken away his mother’s happiness. Early in the clip, Jenny wonders if she is responsible for any of the unhappiness in his family, Sumit tells her she is not responsible for any of it. The main problem is the fact that he had divorced his wife to be with Jenny.

In last week’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Sumit’s family did announce that they could accept Jenny as a friend, but never as a member of their family. After watching the teaser trailer HERE, fans now wonder how Jenny will react to Sumit’s story.
