However, this was too expensive which is why Jenny moved to India to be with Sumit. However, now Sumit’s mother has threatened to commit suicide to keep him from marrying Jenny, what changed?

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’s Jenny claims that Sumit’s mother once suggested they go to the United States to live. Sumit’s parents seem much more concerned with people finding out about the age difference between Sumit and Jenny. Jenny says that Sumit’s parents were fine with their relationship if they left the country. Now Sumit’s parents have threatened legal action if Sumit and Jenny get married.

However, Sumit and Jenny have discovered another way to get married that his family cannot object to. Jenny and Sumit can get married through an “Arya Samaj” temple wedding which cannot be contested in court. However, Sumit’s mother blackmailed him by threatening suicide. By the end of the season, Jenny got nothing more than a promise ring as they still wait for his parent’s approval.

90 Day Fiancé Jenny admits that Sumit’s mother even took them to the American Embassy to see that they needed to get married. Sumit backed up Jenny’s story that his parents did not want “society” to know that he wished to marry and older woman. Sumit’s parents felt it was better to go to the United States and get married there. Sumit’s parents did not want him to leave them but did agree to him moving to the United States.

Sumit said his parents wanted to hide his and Jenny’s relationship from the neighbors. Ironically, once Jenny moved to India to be with Sumit, she discovered that he was married and had to get a divorce. Perhaps Sumit’s parents were only ok with the idea when they knew marriage was not a possibility.

90 Day Fiancé Sumit seem to be living a lavish lifestyle in Goa as Sumit has been posting videos from the beach. It seems that Jenny may have gotten another extension on her tourist visa. However, Jenny and Sumit are going to have to come up with a permanent solution if they plan to stay in India. Tourist visa can only help them for so long.
