Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall from last week’s Y & R, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) got fed up with all the arguments and rivalry between his son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and his nephew, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), which had come to a head in a family visit at the Abbott home where Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) had been upset when she overheard an argument and called them “John and Stuart”, meaning John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and Stuart Brooks (Robert Colbert), obviously having a flashback to her teenage years.
Jack had issued a challenge; Kyle and Theo were to compete over a rebranding of Jabot, which was reverting from Jabot Collective to just Jabot, unmerging from Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) company and returning to its roots. The best rebrand and creator of the best rebrand were to win. Unfortunately, Theo doesn’t realize that Kyle and Summer Newman (Hunter King) were setting him up, using an old campaign of Jack’s and planting it on Summer’s laptop where they expected Theo would go to get his idea instead of coming up with an original one, which was expected.
Sounds like Theo fell for it and apologizes at Jabot, and says it will never happen again, and Kyle gloats, telling him he’s right, it won’t because he’s fired!
Viewers will also recall that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) had offered Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) a job at the new Chancellor Media, wanting her to be their corporate attorney. Amanda had initially declined, saying that she would have to think about it when she realized Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) worked there).
At Society, as Lily and Billy have been having lunch, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Amanda arrive, and as Lilly pulls Nate away for a moment, Billy makes a job offer to Amanda. She teases Billy, telling him if he wants the best it’s going to cost him! Billy grins and tells her she is the best. Amanda tells him, “See? We’re agreeing already.” It sounds like Amanda is indeed going to accept the job offer at Chancellor Media, and Amanda and Billy continue to define their new relationship – a business-only relationship!
In what sounds like a continuation of a conversation that Victor and Nikki had begun in the previous Friday’s episode, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) tells Nikki if she knew what had happened in Kansas, she would know what he did – and Nikki wanted him to tell her, after which he said if he did there would be no going back.
Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that he did tell Nikki what happened, and she had supported him, but she told him they would work through it together. However, viewers still don’t know what the secret is but it sounds like this may be revealed in this coming week as well.
