TLC ’90 Day Fiance – Happily Ever After’ Spoilers: Andrei Reacts To Criticism About His Treatment Of Elizabeth

TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé-Happily Ever After?” stars Andrei and Elizabeth Castravet recently went on the record about Andrei’s seemingly harsh treatment of Elizabeth with Melicia Johnson of Entertainment Tonight.

TLC 90 Day Fiance Spoilers – Andrei And Elizabeth Were Interviewed Remotely Due To Covid-19 Quarantine Restrictions

Andrei and Elizabeth were interviewed remotely through Skype or a similar program where Melicia Johnson spoke to them from the Entertainment Tonight studio, and Andrei and Elizabeth spoke from home. First, she wanted to know what they felt when watching themselves on the new season of the show so far. They looked at the camera, then each other, laughing, as Elizabeth said honestly, the first thing that came to her mind was “Holy crap!”

She then went on to say how people don’t always realize how they act and how it looks until they see themselves in action on the television screen! Elizabeth talked about going back and forth between being embarrassed and “oh I love you”, referring to Andrei in that statement of course. Andrei then started talking about seeing himself on television and thinking about how he could have behaved better or done things differently, and Elizabeth chimed in and echoed Andrei’s sentiments.

Elizabeth also talked about viewers thinking she meant one thing when she really meant another. Andrei then said it’s really their life and their journey and that in a way they really didn’t care what people thought and it didn’t matter. Then the big question – fans are concerned for Elizabeth because of the family dynamics and how Andrei comes off on television – some even worry if she’s safe with him!

Elizabeth Defends Andrei And Understands Where He’s Coming From

Elizabeth understands that Andrei does come off harsh on television at times and that he comes off as being super rude in addition to that. She knows that he is not meaning anything as a personal attack of her but because of his voice, his intonations, his accent, and his being an Eastern European man, where the culture is different than it is in the United States, American viewers perceive him differently than he is, although as they admitted earlier in the interview, they have come across differently than they intended to and could have done and said things differently, Andrei in particular.

But she maintains that she understands where he’s coming from and doesn’t take him as putting her down purposely, or being mean to her although at times she has lost patience with him as he has with her, and they opened their mouth and their loss of patience with each other has come out on the show!

They can both see how Andrei could come across on television as verbally abusive to Elizabeth. Andrei also reiterated she can also have quite a temper, although she is very sweet and the series doesn’t show how harsh she can be with him at times. Like a cute puppy or kitten, she can be sweet and cuddly but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have teeth and claws!
