The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) have been teased as a couple since Vilasuso joined the cast in 2018. Now, after a long walk toward the altar, Shey reached the finish line.

Assuming that this likable couple marries on New Year’s Eve, or shortly thereafter, if a crisis is injected, fans can project this pairing for longterm success. But whether Shey survives is something to be considered, if family issues, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), possibly Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) and even Rey’s dangerous career are mined for controversy.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Extended Relationship Allows Comfort

More than anything, Sharon and Rey are comfortable with each other. Her recent tell to Rey, where she said that she knew they would be together during the night they spent sleeping separately in an out of town motel room, was heartwarming.

Rey was loyal to his first wife, Mia. But when that marriage ended, he was free to be with Sharon.

More recently, Rey was reassured that Adam was no longer in Sharon’s heart. That specific factor, which caused Rey to leave in the past, proved crucial to Shey’s go-ahead.

Sharon beat cancer. That, more than anything, gave her the confidence she needed to approach the future with an open mind.

It’s been nice to see Sharon and Nick getting along so well in recent months. There are no lingering effects of personal animosity. Plus, it helps that both halves of the former Shick, which is one of Y&R’s all-time couples, have meaningful significant others.

Being healthy has given Sharon the optimism she needs to maintain stability. Her bi-polar disorder was addressed and is being maintained through medication and therapy. So, it’s natural that she enters marriage to Rey with true hope for tomorrow in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

However, it is fair to worry that Faith Newman’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) rebellious behavior could eventually create a wedge between Sharon and Rey.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Rey Rosales’ Profession Is Challenging

Another area that could create potential strife for Shey would be Rey’s position at the GC Police Department. Thankfully he has a partner now, as Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) is a solid professional who can help to ease Rey’s load.

Sharon has experience with a law man, as Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) had to leave town and enter the Witness Protection Program in the recent past. Here’s hoping that Rey’s life is never impacted to that degree and the rigors of his profession don’t negatively affect Shey to a breaking point.
