Talk of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) retirement wasn’t a rumor. When pressed by his first-born, he voluntarily relinquished the reigns of the company he founded to his oldest daughter.

Vickie made a smooth transition to the top chair. Unlike many past runs in the family business, this step was her boldest and most successful.

But the ears of Y&R fans itched when talk of Victor’s retirement was discussed at his gala. It seemed like a verbal foreshadowing, with Victor needing to at least be temporarily involved in running Newman while Vickie is unconscious.

Her loved ones won’t know what might happen, but the audience likely does. Unless there’s a shocker, Heinle isn’t departing the cast. So, Vickie will awaken at some point and continue to live in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

She’ll tie her assault to Billy, as his connection with Amanda drew Ripley to the gala. If Billy hadn’t bumped into Amanda at the Grand Phoenix hotel, she wouldn’t have followed him there.

As fans witnessed, Ripley was revealed as the person who was trailing Amanda from the hotel to the Top of the Tower. So, fans will be watching to see if Billy responds to what happened by trying to right himself, or by growing closer to Amanda while Vickie is lights out.
