The Young and the Restless Spoilers Tuesday, January 7: Sharon Surprised by Billy and Amanda – Lola Confesses Fears – Theo Disgusts Summer

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, January 7, tease that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will face some shockers. At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) brings her mom up to speed on Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) ex-husband and his new tour offer. Sharon gives Tessa points since this secret wasn’t about criminal behavior, but she still views it as a lie by omission.

Mariah defends Tessa a bit, so Sharon realizes she wants to give Tessa a pass. She thinks Mariah needs to trust herself, so Mariah gives Sharon a grateful hug. She doesn’t know what she’d do without her mom to talk to. Meanwhile, Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) talks to Tessa back at the apartment. He wonders if Tessa’s girlfriend is holding her back on accepting his offer.

Y&R Spoilers: Sharon Newman Will Face Some Shockers

Tessa gets irritated and snaps that she would’ve given up music if it weren’t for Mariah. Tanner apologizes and can see that Tessa’s girlfriend is very important to her. She notes that Mariah just found out Tanner was her ex-husband, which surprises Tanner. He wonders if Tessa was trying to erase him from her history and insists his own girlfriend was told.

After Tanner points out that he could talk to Mariah, Tessa argues that it’s a terrible idea. She wants to work things out with Mariah on her own. Tanner insists that Tessa believed in him back then and now he’d like to return the favor. Suddenly, Mariah appears and things are tense for a moment. However, she softens after shaking Tanner’s hand and hearing him praise her support of Tessa’s music.

Tanner points out that if Tessa waits too long, the decision will be made for her. Once Tanner’s gone, Mariah talks to Tessa about her lie. She gets that it was one made out of fear and doesn’t want Tessa to pass up this tour because of her. Tessa thinks she should sleep on it, and Mariah makes her a promise. She intends to support Tessa no matter what she decides, so Tessa pulls Mariah close for a hug.

Young And The Restless Spoilers: Billy Abbott Sends Victoria Newman Off On Her Singapore Trip

Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) sees Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) off on her Singapore trip and mentions how the kids are staying at the ranch. Once Victoria leaves, Billy texts Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and meets up with her at Crimson Lights for coffee. They ponder their friendship and what it is that draws them to each other.

Amanda suggests that although they’re different, she’s comfortable with Billy – more comfortable than she is with most other people. They decide it’s good enough that they just each other’s company. When the topic of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) comes up, Billy admits he had a complicated relationship with her. However, he talks Phyllis up as someone smart and cool.

Sharon walks over with coffee and is taken aback that they know each other. That leads Billy to ramble about Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) case and offer excuses. Sharon doesn’t seem to buy what Billy’s selling, but she moves on.

As for Amanda, she has to get going. Billy’s left to mull over his need to explain away his bond with Amanda. At the Grand Phoenix, Summer Newman (Hunter King) mentions Lola Abbott’s (Sasha Calle) birthday surprise for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). After Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) gets the scoop, he starts needling Summer about what it would’ve been like if she were still with Kyle. Theo’s certain Summer still thinks about that.

Y&R Spoilers: Summer Newman Disagrees With Theo Vanderway

Summer balks at Theo’s idea of going upstairs for some fun and thinks he only stayed in town for happily married Lola. She hasn’t shared her suspicions with Kyle, but she warns Theo could regret sticking around. Summer suggests Theo could still give Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) a call, but Theo intends to stay put. He appalls Summer by hinting that she’s hoping he’ll split up Kyle and Lola.

At Society, Lola’s got a private party prepared for Kyle – just the two of them. She offers the first sandwich Kyle ever ordered off her food truck. Kyle ends up making some mocktails and admits he just to be a bartender in the Hamptons. Lola reflects on how different they used to be and expresses concern about their honeymoon period ending.

Kyle feels confident they can handle anything. He lowers the lights and puts on a song so he can slow dance with Lola.
