‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Is Single And Looking For Romance – Is Phyllis A Perfect Match?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is no longer planning a future with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Chick is yesterday, without Nick moving onto another relationship and therefore becoming a free agent.

However, many laughs and smiles have been shared with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in recent months. As Y&R fans recall, a watershed moment happened when she used access at Dark Horse to buy back properties that were controlled by Newman Enterprises that Nick poached.

Phyllis used Adam’s inattention to the business he’d purposely taken from his brother to gobble the properties and sell them back to Newman, with Nick’s nod, at a modest profit.

Nick was very leery of Phyllis, even considering the peace offering she made through the returned Newman properties. But they had a series of heartfelt conversations and soapy time healed their wounds.

All of the above makes Phyllis a real comeback possibility. The same is true of Nick for Stafford’s character.

Seasoned viewers know the risk of this particular rebound would be a replay of past troubles. But both characters are more mature and have endured great heartache, along with harboring regrets about what they’ve done to others. So, mutual commiseration would be one of their current, common bonds.

Y&R Spoilers – Michelle Stafford Is Killing It

Stafford’s return to the cast last year was a surprise. She was with General Hospital, portraying Nina Clay since 2014.

Y&R slow-walked this legacy character’s return for a while last summer. The transition from the also great Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) needed to be handled skillfully and it was. That tenured daytime actor was given scripts that offered a more vulnerable, softer version of the character during her run.

A write-back to the type of Phyllis Stafford once played has hit full-stride within the last few months. Along with that is the now plausible Phick revival.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – New Angle Needs To Be Presented

Soaps are a grind to create and present because of the year-round schedule that is linked to this genre. So, if a Phick reboot is developing, then Phyllis and Nick will need to enter the next relationship they have with fresh faces.

Some form of new challenge, that impacts both parties, would also enable fans to see a different version of this couple, rather than a rehashed edition. Would (will) Nick and Phyllis last, assuming Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) parents try to be together again? That question is worth exploring during a new arc.
