As viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall, Sharon recently found a lump in her breast, and although she made arrangements to get it checked out right away, unlike many women do because of fear of breast cancer, it turns out that she does and she’s keeping it a secret from her family. She doesn’t want to worry her daughters Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and especially not her younger daughter with Nick, Faith Newman (Alivia Alyn Lind). She doesn’t want her boyfriend Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) to know about it either, and she has just been holding this truth inside.

She may not even be going for treatment, knowing that she cannot hide her secret if she is going for chemo or even a mastectomy which is what the doctor might order. Everyone close to her undoubtedly will notice something wrong, but she will try to convince them otherwise…except Nick!

Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Has A Stake In This – Faith Newman Is Only A Young Teenager

Even though Nick and Sharon are no longer involved, and Nick is unattached, having broken up with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) when he realized she belonged with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) recently. Nick has a stake in making sure that Sharon is okay and operating on all four cylinders, so to speak, because of their young daughter Faith. She is only a young teenager, and even though she has grown a lot and gotten older since she went away to boarding school and came back to Genoa City during the holidays, she is at an age where she needs her mother more than ever, and Nick will press Sharon to come clean with him, even if she doesn’t with anyone else because he can tell when something is seriously wrong with her and he’s picking up on those kind of signals from Sharon lately! She’s faking smiles and bubbliness, she’s nervous when she thinks no one is looking, and she’s insisting she’s okay when she very obviously is not!

Young & The Restless Spoilers – Nick Newman Will Get Sharon Newman To Confide In Him And Urge Her To Let Her Friends And Family Help

Nick will get the truth out of Sharon, and urge her to let her close friends and family in the loop so they can help also, even if she wants Faith to be in the dark unless it gets to the point she absolutely has to know. However, Sharon may not want anyone to know unless they have to. She’d rather get the problem taken care of with no one knowing, if possible, but it may be a situation where she may have to go into chemo or have a mastectomy right away, and she doesn’t want Faith especially to worry about her mother dying!

Cancer is a dirty word and a scary disease, and it always strikes fear in people when it’s a possibility. But Nick will support her even if he is the one who goes with her when the biopsy is done, which it will have to be!
