The Young and the Restless spoilers document that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) life has taken a strong negative turn in recent weeks. The feelings that he was developing for Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) led to both people making a mistake.

Their choice may eventually be seen as the start of what becomes a long-term relationship. But at the moment Nate is experiencing personal and professional devastation. At the same time, Elena’s life is fully in flux.

Nate doesn’t see Elena responding to his feelings, as she remains in love with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), or at least believes he’s still her soul mate. As a result of the fall that Nate took his career as a surgeon has been paused, or ended.

With whatever his thoughts, Nate was unable to handle the development of his emotional bond with Elena. For reasons that aren’t logical, people are sometimes drawn to those who appear to be unavailable.

Nate knew in his mind that Elena and Devon were solid. But the resonating effect of his girlfriend’s death a handful of years ago left an emptiness in his heart. A past attempt to start a new relationship with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) went nowhere and Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) interest in him was recently cast aside.

Most importantly, Nate should have enforced his family link to Devon. That was the leading reason why nothing with Elena should have ever happened. But it did and now they’re both suffering true pain.

Y&R Spoilers – Elena Dawson’s Dreams Shifting?

Devon and Elena established what seemed to be a strong relationship. This likable couple was projecting toward marriage and children. But that shared dream could already be dashed.

Nate is someone who Elena recently tagged as attractive. Her tell to Amanda was seen by viewers as a troublesome sign. That interpretation was based on the belief that Elena and Devon seemed to be sound.

Devon has already decided that Elena must care about Nate more than him, which is why she acted as she did. James’ character is trying to coldly break from their relationship and has already told Nate that their family tie apparently represents nothing.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Developing Storylines Might Converge

Nate’s prognosis means that he might never be able to perform as a surgeon again. Of course, the future is unknown, as time and scientific advancement could allow him to work again. Plus, this is soap, so anything is possible.

As for Elena, her love for Devon and his feelings for her haven’t evaporated. This situation will surely play out for an indefinite number of episodes before viewers see whether Elevon, or Delena if one prefers, reconciles.

However, the three ends of this triangle could eventually agree that what’s happened was meant to be. But that perspective is far from being shared right now in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
