The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) Wants Daughters To Find Husband Just Like Their Dad

It’s Valentine’s Day! People are exchanging gifts, cards, flowers, or chocolates with their special someone. The same goes for Melissa Ordway and real-life husband Justin Gaston. Ordway or Abby Newman on “The Young and the Restless” and Gaston from “Days of Our Lives,” don’t get that much time alone with their busy schedules and two cute kids. But this special day gives them the opportunity to spend time with each other. The actress is happily married and she wants her kids to find true love too.

“It’s important — Valentine’s Day gives you an opportunity to celebrate each other as a couple!” the actress said during an interview with Soaps In Depth.

“We don’t [often] take time for ourselves, because we are always busy with work and the girls, and we kind of forget, ‘Oh yeah, we need to take time for ourselves and just be together!’ Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse for a date night [to] just sit down to dinner, have an adult conversation and reconnect,” she said.

Having Kids That Are Always Active

The actress shared that their kids, Olivia and Sophie, are a wild bunch and that’s why she and her husband need to reconnect every once in a while.

“We don’t have kids that sleep a lot, so having an evening for each other is important!” she shared.

“We don’t get that at home — ever!” she added.

Ordway emphasized that they want to be role models to their kids. They want their little ones to know what a healthy relationship is. The actress grew up in a loving family and the same goes for Gaston. Given that, they want their kids to have that, too. She wants to keep it real with her kids. She won’t lie to them by saying that marriage is easy, simple, and always happy. They want to tell them the truth.

“It’s not easy! But we want to show them how much we love each other. I want my girls to know what a good man is like,” she continued.

Find A Man Like Their Dad

The actress also wants her daughters to be with someone who is just like their dad. She continued to say that she wants only the best for them and that means finding a man who is like or even better than Gaston. He’s a real gentleman, an honest, and stand-up guy. He’s not only the best dad but also the best husband ever.

“You always want your kids to do better than what you have in your life, but I think I’ve done pretty well for myself! I don’t want to say there is anyone better than Justin, but I just want them to find their perfect match,” Ordway said.

“He’s the best dad and the best husband and an honest, stand-up guy. I hope that my girls someday find a relationship with someone who is equally as amazing as Justin!” the actress added.
