The Young and the Restless Spoilers Friday, January 3: Sharon’s Breast Lump Discovery – Tessa’s Secret Marriage – Bella’s Big Sister News

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, January 3, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will want to move on. At home, Nick talks to Summer Newman (Hunter King) about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) coming by to get her stuff. She’s going to take everything over to Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) penthouse later.

Summer suggests that Nick and Chelsea came together while on the rebound, but she’s hopeful Nick will find somebody special. However, Nick isn’t thinking that far ahead yet. At Adam’s place, Chelsea clarifies that Adam witnessed her bidding Nick farewell last night. She feels she hurt Nick because she hadn’t settled things with Adam, so she doesn’t want to rush this reunion.

Y&R Spoilers: Adam Newman Thinks That Him And Chelsea Lawson Should Start With A Date

Adam thinks they should start with a date, so they enjoy New Year’s brunch soon enough. Adam feels that they love each other because of their imperfections. He proposes a toast to them and what they can be.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is surprised to hear Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) is on the patio. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) directs Mariah’s attention there before Mariah joins Tessa. Since Tessa’s meeting with Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) today, Mariah assumes nerves are getting the best of her. She suggests she could go with Tessa, but Tessa promises she’ll be fine.

Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) gets a hint about Tessa’s mysterious meeting as she leaves. She’s eager to learn more from Mariah, but Mariah isn’t prepared to spill yet. Faith ends up saying her goodbyes to Sharon and Mariah before Summer comes in with Nick. After Summer takes Faith aside, Nick catches Sharon up on his split from Chelsea. She inquires about Chelsea and Adam, but Nick’s done with all the relationship drama.

Nick jokes about his best days potentially being behind him, which Sharon has a bit of a reaction to. Sharon is also distracted while chatting with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) a couple times, so it’s clear she’s got something on her mind.

Once Faith says goodbye again and prepares to head back to boarding school, Sharon finds herself alone. She makes a phone call to schedule a doctor’s appointment. It turns out Sharon found a lump on her breast, so that’s certainly something she needs to have checked out.

At Society, Mariah sits down with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and fills him in on Tessa’s meeting. Devon’s impressed to hear it’s with Tanner, who’s a big deal in the music world. Mariah’s counting on this to be Tessa’s big break.

At the Grand Phoenix, Tanner’s excited to see Tessa and hugs her. They reflect on it being a long time since they last saw each other. Tanner’s career is going well, but he mentions how Tessa believed in him even when he was living in his van. He wants Tessa to be his opening act on tour, but she’s hesitant.

Tanner points out that this is strictly about music, not their shared past. He alludes to being reckless back then, but they’ve both grown up and moved on. Tanner hopes Tessa will say yes. Later, Mariah gets the scoop on Tanner’s offer and thinks this will be epic. She’s all set to make plans, but Tessa wants her to slow down. Mariah’s surprised when Tessa suggests maybe she should turn Tanner down.

Since Mariah assumes this is about the time away on tour, she promises she can work all that out. Mariah can schedule it so this tour won’t come between them. Tessa thinks it might and reveals that she knew Tanner before their meeting today. She eventually confesses that Tanner’s her ex and they were married.

Back at Society, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) prepare to drop their baby bomb. They discuss having already told Bella Fisher (Martie Blair) before Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) arrives in a foul mood. He’s got a hangover and really isn’t in the mood to celebrate.

Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman), Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker), Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) and Bella are also on hand. Kevin ultimately tries to make the big announcement, but Esther’s news comes first. She’s now on a dating app. Lauren also delays Kevin by bringing up Fenmore’s global domination plans, but an impatient Bella finally blurts out that she’s going to be a big sister.

Naturally, everyone at the table’s ecstatic. Michael thinks it’s time to have some Champagne, so this will indeed be a celebratory occasion.
