But they’re not because Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) purposefully recruited Amanda to boggle Devon’s mind in an attempt to steal a major portion of Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) inherited money.

Now, more than a year after Amanda came to town, her parental backstory has begun to play out. Teasers indicate that Morgan’s second character will make progress in learning how she and her deceased sister were born. Devon will be part of that process, which likely keeps him written away from Elena.

Elena and Nate built a solid friendship on their common vocation. Elena’s recent return to the New Hope Clinic confirmed that she dealt with her feelings following the bad break from Devon.

Nate dropped Amanda a number of months ago because he realized that Elena was the woman he loved. In time, he and Sarpy’s character sparked, which devastated Devon. That led to Nate being attacked, which caused the fall and his surgical career being halted, or possibly lost.

Unless there’s an unexpected revival between Elena and Devon, she’ll be unable to resist the draw to Nate. That makes Nelena a trending couple into 2021.
