While Devon and Elena have a nice relationship, it’s one that’s only been modestly threatened. Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) arrival in Genoa City, Wisconsin, naturally upset many people, including this couple.

Devon and Amanda were bonding while Elena and Nate were becoming more familiar with each other at the clinic during a recent episode. Amanda and Devon even shared a laugh about how he couldn’t forget that she reminded him of Hilary Hamilton (Morgan’s first character on the show).

The open tease during Morgan’s return to the show was that her new character’s link to Amanda had to play out. Y&R wouldn’t have Amanda eventually reveal as just a look-a-like, right? Well, time will tell.

But no matter what Amanda’s genetic history proves to be, she and Devon have a spark between them. If it grows will depend on developing circumstances, which will include Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) influence.

Elena could kiss Nate. Devon could forget, just for a moment, that he’s not talking to Hilary and take Amanda’s hand. Either event, if seen by the other half of this couple would create a response. Devon and Elena’s relationship would be damaged, or worse.

Alternatively, Y&R may choose to write this likable couple into engagement, or marriage, while never having them stray from new soulmate status. But that course wouldn’t generate much drama. So it seems as though this quartet will clash, shortly.
