Mounting, still circumstantial evidence indicates that Alyssa is the person who tried to shoot Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but hit Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) instead. If that suspicion proves out as true, then it’s reasonable to also conclude that she’s the person who’s attempting to frame Billy for her crime.
Alyssa didn’t know that her father was murdered. Instead, she always believed that he died in a barn fall on Hope Wilson’s (Signy Coleman) farm in Kansas.
Adam’s use of his old school friend was exposed as manipulation when she used her crime reporter skills to uncover startling information, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) appeared to have killed A.J. Montalvo (Marcus DeAnda). However, the Moustache merely covered up what his then eleven-year-old son did in defense of his mother.
A.J.’s role as a loan shark isn’t something that Alyssa has focused on. Instead, she seems to have decided to use Billy’s legendary grudge against Adam, which is based on the accidental killing of Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono), as heavy cover in framing Thompson’s character for the attempted homicide she’s justified committing.
Teasers indicate that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will also find what appear to be gloves that could have been used in the shooting.
Alyssa says that she’s been a crime reporter for many years. Possibly that choice was a psychological response to her father’s notorious deeds.
But now, instead of pursuing intended justice for victims, she seems to have allowed her mind to become warped. No matter her thoughts about Adam, it would never be just to take a shot at him. It also wouldn’t be right to try and pin the blame on Billy, whose daughter was lost during an iconic arc in 2013.
If the above is accurate, than Alyssa is mentally unbalanced as rage has ravaged her mind. She’ll be identified as the perpetrator and face charges, unless she runs from town.
There are many people who hold grudges against Adam, including the widow (who seemingly hasn’t been seen) of the man he accidentally killed in Las Vegas, Nevada. Viewers who have taken note of the three accidental killings Adam has been involved in must suspend disbelief in order to be entertained, rather than irked.
If she’s guilty, then Alyssa’s thirst for revenge would have driven her to take a shot at Adam. She would have known that Billy’s gun was in Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) home in order to steal it, which means the frame was premeditated. Alyssa would have seen Billy from her vantage point on the building across the street from where she was firing the gun and would now be claiming to simply be an eye-witness to his presence on that fateful day.
DiDomenico plays a side character. So, Alyssa can be written into a long prison sentence, with this storyline potentially wrapping in a matter of weeks.
