CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that there were some sparks in the penthouse today but not between the normal residents. Instead, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) were having an intense conversation and the handwriting could be on the wall. Even though the conversation was all about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), there was enough heat between Chance and Chelsea to light up the fake fireplace.

Right now Adam is working through his long list of issues with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). This includes killing someone when he was a boy. Not only is he consumed with that incident, but he is also churning up every bad deed he ever did and using it as evidence that he is a natural-born killer who can’t be trusted.

This has caused him to distance himself from Chelsea and their son, for their own protection.

Chelsea is beside herself, wondering where Adam is and she asked Chance if he had any idea. He didn’t, but he needs to find Adam for his own reasons, namely that their Las Vegas past is coming back to haunt them. Wherever Adam is there’s smoke, and it looked like a fire could break out between Chelsea and Chance as they desperately talked about the man they are both pursuing.

In fact, Adam wants nothing to do with either one of them—could they turn to each other like a twisted sort of consolation prize?

Chelsea loves dollar signs and Chance is full of them, which would make him a mighty attractive mark, erm, hookup. Chance is involved with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) but they are as exciting as watching paint dry.

Clearly Chance has a wild streak, as his Vegas antics prove. Wild child Chelsea will be humiliated if Adam dumps her for good and hooks up with Sharon. She will need a man on her arm to console herself and who better than someone she is getting to know while Adam is away?

Y&R fans are convinced that Shadam is inevitable, will Chelsea turn to Chance when that happens?
